127 LENGTH OF ELIGIBILITY SR 03-04 Dated 01/03 (AAM-A)

_____________________________________________________________

Financial or medical assistance, QMB, QDWI, SLMB or SLMB135 cases do not have certification periods. Cases remain eligible until they are determined ineligible.

*

Schedule redeterminations of eligibility at least every 12 months.

• The first redetermination date is set by counting 12 months from the month of application. The month of application is always zero.

• Assign subsequent redeterminations by counting 12 months from the date of the currently scheduled redetermination. The current redetermination month is always zero.

Review individuals more frequently when either of the following occurs:

• There is a change in case circumstances that affects other eligibility factors; or

• There is conflicting information regarding eligibility.

Exception: If the case involves multiple programs of assistance, redetermination periods for all programs are aligned to coincide with the most frequent redetermination required by policy. See Food Stamp Manual Section 133.09, Certification Periods, and the Family Assistance Manual PART 161, REDETERMINATION/RECERTIFICATION, for additional information on redeterminations/recertifications involving other programs of assistance.
