167.01 COLA Income Deduction SR 94-04, 04/94 (AAM-A) |
Individuals who meet all of the above requirements are eligible to receive the appropriate SSA cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) as an income deduction.
Compute a COLA income deduction for each individual in the case who is currently receiving SSA income, whether they are the recipient, an applicant, or non-applicant spouse.
Deduct, from the individual’s current SSA benefit, all the SSA COLAs received after the most recent termination of financial assistance.
• The amount of the deduction is the difference between the pre- and post-SSA amounts which result from the annual SSA COLA.
• See EMS Handbook for EMS coding of cases eligible under the Pickle Amendment.
