315.01 Requirements for Developing Potential Sources of Income SR 03-22, 07/03 (AAM-A)

Individuals who are potentially eligible to receive a benefit are required to:

• apply for the benefit;

• cooperate in taking the necessary steps to obtain the benefit;

• accept the benefit, if eligible; and

• pursue all appeal options within the timeframes set by the eligibility-determining agencies or individuals responsible for the other benefits, up to, but not including, court action, if found ineligible for the benefit due to medical reasons.

Refer individuals to the appropriate agency to apply for benefits. Individuals must file an application for benefits and verify that they have applied, are cooperating with the application process, and are pursuing all appeal options, if required. *

Applicants for OAA, APTD, and ANB financial assistance must apply for all benefits for which the applicant is potentially entitled, including SSI benefits, and verify that application has been made, before the financial assistance application can be processed.

Deny or terminate financial assistance for the entire assistance group and deny or terminate medical assistance for all adults in the assistance group if any individual in the group refuses or fails to apply for or accept benefits for which they may be eligible.
