317 REIMBURSEMENT SR 99-18, 05/99 (AAM-A)

Individuals who are required to reimburse the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) are recipients of:

• OAA financial or medical assistance,

• APTD financial assistance,

• APTD medical assistance who are age 55 or older,

• QMB, QDWI, SLMB, SLMB135, or SLMB175 who are age 55 or older, and

• Medical assistance recipients who own real property and who are permanently institutionalized in a:

- Nursing facility,

- Intermediate care facility for the mentally retarded (ICF-MR), or

- Other medical institution.

All other recipients, former recipients, friends, or relatives may voluntarily repay part or all of the amount of assistance issued on an individual’s behalf.
