Spiritual Care

Information about how New Hampshire Hospital serves the spiritual needs of patients and family

The chaplain at NH Hospital is available for the spiritual needs of our patients and offers a caring ministry that is encouraging and supportive to people of all faiths and world views.

Patients or family members may request pastoral counseling, prayer, support or other spiritual care at any time during their stay. An ecumenical Christian worship service is offered every Sunday in the Chapel of All Faiths, located on the second floor. All patients who wish to and are able to attend are welcome. The Chapel is also open for prayer, reflection and meditation during daytime hours. Literature, Bibles, and other sacred texts can be provided to patients on their request.

In addition, our chaplain can also help patients connect with their local clergy or faith community. A particular mission of the NHH chaplain is to provide education and support for NH faith communities seeking to welcome persons with serious mental illness into their congregations or to further meet the needs of those who are already members.
