Requests for Information

In accordance with the HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act) Privacy Policy Act, NH Hospital cannot give out any information about patients or those who may visit them.

We are unable to provide any information over the telephone, including confirmation of whether or not someone is, or is not, a patient here.

When You Visit

For the safety of our patients and staff all visitors will be required to go through the walk-through metal detector upon entering the building. All carried items including bags, briefcases, etc. will be subject to search. Then all visitors must check in with the Information Center located near the main entrance. If a staff member is not available in the Information Center, please check in at the State Office Complex Police window also located near the main entrance.

All visitors must provide the first and last name of the person they wish to visit, and the name of the unit, if possible.

Visitors must present a photo identification (driver’s license, non-driver’s license, school ID, etc.), and will be issued a visitor identification badge. If a visitor does not have photo identification, the visitor will be directed to State Office Complex Police to determine whether or not a visit will be allowed.

Visitors who wish to drop off or deliver items for patients must ask the Information Center to call the unit and ask for a staff member to come to the lobby to receive the delivery. The Information Center cannot hold patient or visitor’s belongings.

Pay telephones for visitor use are located in the APS lobby. Telephone numbers may be obtained from the Information Center.
