Payments made for the maintenance and care of a former or estranged spouse (See Section 611.01 , Computing Eligibility).

If the support order specifies a single amount for a custodial parent and children, prorate an amount for each.

Treatment: Unearned Income

Any portion of spousal support made payable to—and retained by—the state.

Treatment: Excluded Income for grant computation*. It is not excluded from the gross and needs tests.
