VOLUNTEERS IN SERVICE TO AMERICA (VISTA) (FAM)

AmeriCorps VISTA payments made under Title I of P.L. 93-113 are funded through the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), formerly known as ACTION. AmeriCorps VISTA members serve through private organizations and public nonprofit agencies addressing issues specifically related to poverty such as public health, education, the environment, public safety, and employment.

Treatment: Excluded Income

Exception: Count AmeriCorps VISTA payments as earned income when the CNCS determines that the payments are at least equal to the federal minimum wage, or the state minimum wage if greater.
