147 ACTIONS ON CHANGES SR 97-08, 03/97(FAM-A)

When an individual reports that a change in information is expected to occur, take all of the following actions:

• Record the reported change and the date the change is expected to occur.

• Within 10 working days of the date the change should have occurred, contact the individual to request verification of the change.

When an individual reports that a change in information has occurred, take all of the following actions:

• Record the reported change and the date.

- Use Form 63, Report of Information Change, indicating the date the change was reported.

• Take timely action on the change, as follows:

- within 10 working days of the date the change is reported.

• Notify the individual of any needed verification because of the reported change, using Form 808, Proof Needed to Determine Your Assistance.

• Allow the individual 10 calendar days from the date the change occurs to provide verification of the change.

• Determine the effect of the change on the individuals eligibility and benefits.

Exception: Schedule a redetermination appointment prior to the change if policy requires that assistance be terminated in the month in which the change takes place.

Example:

A child turning 20 must be closed on the day of the month in which they turn 20. If their birthday is on the 20th of November, action to close the case must be done by the 9th so that the case closes by the 20th.
