161.07 Termination at Redetermination/Recertification SR 02-07, 02/02 (FAM-A)

Terminate TANF financial or medical assistance if any of the following apply:

• the individual fails to return a completed Form 800 or 800P without good cause;

• the individual no longer meets eligibility criteria;

• the individual has not completed Form 800H, fails to qualify for an exception, and fails to:

- attend the interview appointment scheduled for them; or

- contact the District Office to reschedule an appointment;

• the individual fails or refuses to appear for a redetermination interview without good cause; or

• the individual refuses or fails to provide the required verification within the timeframe.

Exceptions:

• When a third party has not responded to a request for verification within the timeframe, send a follow-up request to the third party and to the individual. Allow an additional 10 working days for a response. If verification is not provided within the second waiting period, terminate assistance unless other acceptable verification is provided by the individual.

• Cancel the termination if the individual contacts the District Office within the advance notice period and arranges to complete the redetermination process by:

- completing Form 800, 800H, or 800P;

- rescheduling the appointment that was missed; or

- providing all the required verification.

 See Section 109.07, Reuse of Forms 800, 800H, and 800P After Denial, and Part 127, Interviews.

Completion of Verification Requirements After the ANP Has Expired:

If the assistance was terminated due to lack of verification and the individual provides all the required verification within the 10 days following the end of the advance notice period:

• have the individual fill out the paper version of the HEIGHTS Application Form, Form 800HP, with their name, address, program of assistance, and signature;

• ensure that no other changes have occurred in the case that would affect eligibility and that no new program services have been requested on the Form 800HP other than those which were originally terminated;

• if the individual meets all program eligibility requirements, reinstate assistance based on the new application date, with no new interview required; and

• generate financial and medical benefits in accordance with PART 123, BENEFIT DELIVERY TIMEFRAMES, assuming the individual has requested retroactive medical coverage back to the date of closing, if applicable.
