169 EXTENDED MEDICAL ASSISTANCE DUE TO INCREASED CHILD OR SPOUSAL SUPPORT SR 97-08, 03/97 (FAM-A)

Continue medical assistance for 4 months for all individuals in an TANF assistance group who become ineligible for TANF financial assistance because of increased child or spousal support regardless of their income level. Extend medical assistance only if there are no changes in program criteria, nonfinancial criteria, or resources which make the individual ineligible at the same time as the increase in child support income.

• The assistance group must have received financial assistance during any 3 of the previous 6 months before the case closed.

• The reason for the termination of financial assistance must be due in whole or in part to increased child support income.
