203.09 Interim Disabled Parent (IDP) SR 19-28 Dated 06/19 |
Interim Disabled Parent (IDP) financial assistance is available to eligible one- and two-parent families where at least one parent has a verified disability. Eligibility requirements align with Financial Assistance to Needy Families (FANF) financial assistance.
Verified Disability
To be eligible for IDP assistance, at least one parent must:
be receiving Aid to the Permanently and Totally Disabled (APTD) or Aid to the Needy Blind (ANB);
be receiving Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) (but all parents in the household cannot receive SSDI/SSI);
be determined exempt from participation in the New Hampshire Employment Program (NHEP) due to a health condition by providing the information requested on BFA Form 752, Healthcare Provider Statement of Abilities for FANF Financial Assistance (see Section 808.07, Verification of Exemptions, for information about this type of exemption);
be determined exempt from participation in NHEP due to caring for a household member with a health condition by providing the information requested on BFA Form 752HH, Healthcare Provider Statement of Necessary Care for a FANF Household Member (see Section 808.07, Verification of Exemptions, for information about this type of exemption); or
be determined incapacitated by providing the information requested on BFA Form 720, Determination of Incapacity for FANF Financial Assistance (two-parent families only).
Assistance groups are not eligible for IDP but instead receive financial assistance through the Family Assistance Program (FAP) when:
all adults are receiving SSDI, SSI, or Veteran’s Administration (VA) benefits with a disability rating of 80% or more; or
a relative other than a parent is caring for the dependent child and that relative is not receiving assistance.
