217.03 Actions Affecting Separate Medical Assistance Groups SR 11-30, 07/11 (FAM-A)

When transferring an individual from the financial assistance group to a separate medical assistance (nonfinancial-related) group, establish their eligibility as of the first day following the termination of financial-related medical assistance.

Combine the *FANF financial assistance group and the related separate *FANF medical assistance group into one medical assistance group when financial assistance eligibility ends. Establish eligibility for new members of the combined group as of the day of the month after medical assistance in their old group was terminated.

Exception: If any member of the terminated financial assistance group is eligible for medical assistance under another program (e.g., HC-CSD, Children with Severe Disability), the casehead has the option of choosing which group they become a member of.

If a *FANF financial assistance group becomes ineligible for financial assistance due to increased earnings or child support and is eligible for extended medical assistance, combine the two groups only when extended medical assistance coverage ends.
