242.01 Assistance Group Composition (HCBC-IHS) SR 03-28, 05/03 (FAM-A)

Assistance group composition for a HCBC-IHS eligible individual differs based on the category of assistance received, and the individuals income.

• If the individuals income is within categorically or medically needy limits for the category of assistance being received or requested, refer to the assistance group composition policy for that specific category of assistance.

If the individuals income exceeds the categorically or medically needy limits for the category of assistance being received or requested, the individual is considered an assistance group size of 1 for purposes of determining HCBC eligibility; however, income that would normally be counted in determining the individuals eligibility is still counted. For example, if a child resides with his or her parents, the parents income must be counted when determining the childs financial eligibility unless the child is applying for or receiving HC-CSD.
