705.11 Required Verification SR 06-12, 10/06 (FAM-A)

Upon notification of the death of a TANF/UP financial assistance case head, verify all of the following:

• The individual was a financial assistance recipient at the time of death.

• The total cost of the proceedings do not exceed $1,500 and all costs associated with the funeral and proper disposal are included on the funeral directors bill.

• All personal property resources and payment from outside sources are applied to the cost of the funeral and proper disposal of remains.

Use any document or collateral contact which reasonably establishes the eligibility requirements.
