808.11 72 Hour Requirement SR 97/19, 06/97 (FAM-A)

All individuals referred to the NHEP team must contact the NHEP team within 72 hours of the initial interview, redetermination interview or change in status from exempt to mandatory. Contact means that:

• The District office has pre-scheduled the individual for an orientation session, or

• The individual has scheduled or attended an orientation or initial assessment interview.

Notify the individual of the referral requirements using Form 222, Referral Letter.

Exception: If a redetermination interview is done through the mail or an individual volunteers by telephone contact, the District Office forwards Form 213 and Form 226 to NHEP. NHEP then contacts the individual to set up an appointment.

Individuals who are scheduled for orientation on a sign-up basis at the District Office meet the 72-hour contact requirement.

The Employment Team is responsible for determining if individuals referred are in compliance with the 72 hour requirement.
