905 LENGTH OF ELIGIBILITY SR 97-28, 08/97 (FAM-A) |
Child care eligibility is determined for a specific period of time. When the eligibility period ends, the individual must reapply, be interviewed, and be determined eligible for child care services again.
• The month of application is the first month of the eligibility period, regardless of what day of the month the individual applies. The eligibility period begins on the day the application is received.
Example
• If an application for child care is received May 26 and is approved, the eligibility period begins May 26 and must end no later than October 30.
• Adjust the eligibility period to coincide with other programs if the household receives TANF or food stamps.
• The eligibility period must not exceed 6 months.
Exception: Extend the eligibility period up to a maximum of 12 months if the household receives TANF-related medical assistance only and no food stamps, with child care.
