939 DETERMINING THE NH CHILD CARE SCHOLARSHIP PROVIDER REIMBURSEMENT AMOUNT SR 09-17, 06/09 (FAM-A)

The NH Child Care Scholarship provider reimbursement amount is the amount that the Department pays to the provider towards the cost of services for families receiving NH Child Care Scholarship. This rate is calculated by subtracting the family cost share from the either the NH Child Care Standard Rate for the type of provider or the provider’s private pay rate, whichever is less.

Example 1:

NH Child Care Standard Rate for a Licensed Child Care Center for a child between 18-35 months, authorized for full-time service: $180 a week

This particular provider charges private paying families: $150 a week

Family’s cost share for NH Child Care Scholarship: $20

Provider Reimbursement Amount is $130 a week ($150, since the private pay rate is less than the NH Child Care Standard Rate, minus $20, the family cost share = $130).

Example 2:

NH Child Care Standard Rate for a Licensed-Exempt Center for a child over 79 months, authorized for half-time service: $37.50 a week

This particular provider charges private paying families: $100 a week

Family’s cost share for NH Child Care Scholarship: $20

Provider Reimbursement Amount is $17.50 a week ($37.50, since the NH Child Care Standard Rate is less than the private pay rate, minus $20, the family cost share = $17.50).
