939 DETERMINING THE NH CHILD CARE SCHOLARSHIP PROVIDER REIMBURSEMENT AMOUNT SR 12-17, 05/12 (FAM-A)

The NH Child Care Scholarship provider reimbursement amount is the amount that the Department pays to the provider towards the cost of services for families receiving NH Child Care Scholarship. To calculate this rate: *

1. Subtract the child’s cost share from the Weekly NH Child Care Standard Rate based on the type of provider, the child’s age, and the service level.

2. Compare that figure to the provider’s private pay rate.

3. The NH Child Care Scholarship provider reimbursement amount is whichever figure is less.

Example 1:

Weekly NH Child Care Standard Rate for a Licensed Child Care Center for a child between 18-35 months, authorized for full-time service: $*186.94 a week

This particular provider charges private paying families: $150 a week

The child’s cost share for NH Child Care Scholarship: $20

Provider Reimbursement Amount is $*150 a week:*

The Weekly NH Child Care Standard Rate of $186.94 minus the child’s cost share of $20 = $166.94/wk.

The provider’s private pay rate = $150/wk.

The Department will pay $150/wk because it is less than $166.94/wk.

Example 2:

Weekly NH Child Care Standard Rate for a Licensed-Exempt Center for a child over 79 months, authorized for half-time service: $37.50 a week

This particular provider charges private paying families: $100 a week

The child’s cost share for NH Child Care Scholarship: $20

Provider Reimbursement Amount is $17.50 a week:*

The Weekly NH Child Care Standard Rate of $37.50/wk minus the child’s cost share of $20 = $17.50/wk

The provider’s private pay rate = $100/wk.

The Department will pay $17.50/wk because it is less than $100/wk.
