939 DETERMINING THE PROVIDER REIMBURSEMENT AMOUNT SR 08-14, 07/08 (FAM-A)

*The "NH Child Care Standard Rate" is based on the age of the child and the type of provider.*

A familys "Step" level is determined by the familys gross monthly income, size of family, and whether or not the recipient of child care assistance has applied for or receives FANF financial assistance or NHEP-related categorically-needy medical assistance (MA). The Step level determines the amount of the familys co-pay.

The "NH Child Care Provider Reimbursement" amount is based on the number of hours of service and is calculated by subtracting the family co-payment from the NH Child Care Standard Rate.

• FANF financial assistance recipients, recipients of NHEP-related categorically-needy MA, and 12-month EMA recipients whose eligibility for EMA is based on loss of FANF financial assistance or loss of NHEP-related categorically-needy MA due to new or increased earnings or hours of employment of the principal wage earner, are eligible for Step 1, regardless of their income. Step 1 co-pay amounts are $0.0, making the NH Child Care Provider Reimbursement amounts equal to the NH Child Care Standard Rates.

• NHEP participants in an approved OJT placement are eligible for Step 1 co-payment rates for the duration of the OJT contract even if financial assistance closes due to increased earnings or hours of employment.

• Non-FANF families and families not eligible for 12-month EMA whose gross monthly income does not exceed 140% of the federal poverty guidelines, are eligible for Step 2 co-payment rates.

• Non-FANF families and families not eligible for 12-month EMA whose gross monthly income falls between 140% and 190% of the federal poverty guidelines, are eligible for Step 3 co-payment rates. *

Steps 2 and 3 are assigned a co-pay. For more information on family co-payments, see Section 943.01, Assigned Co-Payment.
