Inform individuals who do not receive TANF/UP financial assistance, NHEP-related categorically-needy medical assistance (MA), or 12-month EMA based on loss of financial assistance or loss of NHEP-related categorically-needy MA, that they must contribute to the cost of the child care they receive. Explain that the Department deducts a co-payment from the child care service payment when the rate charged by a noncontract provider is less than or equal to the maximum allowable reimbursement rate. The amount of the co-payment is determined by the family’s income eligibility level.
The co-payment for income-eligible families at:
• Step 2— is $0.25 per week for each child receiving child care assistance.
• Step 3— is $0.50 per week for each child receiving child care assistance.
