Parent — a biological, adoptive, or stepparent, or an individual acting in the place of a parent such as a foster parent or legal guardian.
Parental Support or Care — financial support, guidance, physical care, and supervision of a dependent child.
Payment Month — the month in which a payment is made based on the information in the system at the time.
Payment Period — the semimonthly payroll period consisting of the first to the 15th of the month or the 16th to the last day of the month.
Payment Standard (TANF financial and categorically needy medical assistance) — the dollar amount subject to budgetary limitations from which net income is subtracted when determining eligibility and the level of benefits.
Personal Identification Number (PIN) — the 4-digit number used by a client to activate and control the use of the EBT card.
Personal Property — a form of cash or an item which can readily be converted to cash, i.e., liquid asset.
Proof — documentation or information that establishes the accuracy of statements made by the individual.
Processing Month — the month in which computer entries are made and confirmed.
Protected Income Level (PIL, TANF medically needy medical assistance) — the income limit that net income is compared to when determining eligibility for an assistance group that is not categorically eligible. The PIL is based on assistance group size.
Provided Shelter — shelter that is provided at no charge to the assistance group.
Provider — any individual, public organization, or private agency supplying child care services.
Provider Payment — a reimbursement by the Division to the provider for the cost of child care services that have already been received.
Pure SSI Household — a household in which all members are SSI recipients.
