231 CATEGORICALLY AND EXPANDED CATEGORICALLY ELIGIBLE HOUSEHOLDS (FSM) |
____________________________________________________________
Certain SNAP households may be considered Categorically Eligible or Expanded Categorically Eligible based on meeting certain criteria. These households are subject to fewer eligibility requirements than regular SNAP households.
See Section 231.01 Categorical Eligibility Criteria and Section 231.05 Expanded Categorical Eligibility Criteria for more information.
A household cannot be considered Categorically Eligible or Expanded Categorically Eligible if the household includes any of the following:
· A member who has been suspended from receiving SSI due to noncompliance with drug and/or alcohol abuse treatment requirements (categorical eligibility does not apply until the suspension ends and the member begins receiving SSI again); |
· Someone disqualified due to an intentional program violation; |
· Someone disqualified because of noncompliance with ABAWD work requirements; |
· A fleeing felon, certain convicted felons, or probation or parole violator; |
· Someone who has received substantial lottery or gambling winnings and the case has closed for this reason, until one certification period has been completed as a regular SNAP household. |
