235.03 Responsibilities of the Group Living Arrangement SR 94-04 Dated 04/94

A group living arrangement acting as an authorized representative (AR) must do all of the following:

1.  apply on behalf of the resident;

2.  buy and prepare food to be consumed by eligible residents communally or individually, or provide Food Stamp benefits to the resident to purchase food for their own consumption;

3.  ensure that each residents Food Stamp benefits are used for meals intended for that resident; and

4.  notify DHHS of changes in any households income or of other changes affecting eligibility.

A group living arrangement is also responsible for all of the following:

• any program violation which it knowingly commits to obtain Food Stamp benefits for its residents;

• all losses or misuse of Food Stamp benefits held on behalf of residents, and for all overissuances which occur while the individuals are residents of the facility;

• providing a monthly list of participating residents and a statement signed by a responsible official of the facility attesting to the accuracy of the list; and

• notifying DHHS within 10 calendar days if a participating resident dies or leaves the facility.
