163.05 Redetermination of Eligibility During the Four-Month Coverage Period (MAM)

SR 13-35 Dated 10/13

Previous Policy

____________________________________________________________

Conduct a full redetermination of eligibility prior to expiration of the four-month extended medical assistance (EMA) coverage period. Prior to terminating four-month (EMA), all individuals in the four-month EMA assistance group must be reviewed for eligibility under other medical assistance programs.

As long as a full redetermination of eligibility is completed prior to expiration of the four-month EMA coverage period, the District Office may choose to omit other regularly scheduled FANF redeterminations during the four-month EMA coverage period.

Policy about redeterminations will change under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). This policy will be updated to incorporate these changes at that time.
