SR 13-35 Dated 10/13

Previous Policy

_____________________________________________________________

Residential care facilities (RCF) provide personal and social care to elderly or physically disabled adults 18 years of age and older who cannot live alone but do not need to be institutionalized.

Exception: Residents of RCF who meet the medical requirements for Home and Community-Based Care Choices for Independence (HCBC-CFI) may be approved for HCBC-ECI services while residing in an RCF.

Determine eligibility for financial assistance or categorically needy medical assistance using the RCF income limits if all of the following are met:

• the individual meets the categorical requirements for either OAA, ANB, or APTD;

• the individual resides in an RCF;

• the RCF is currently licensed by the State of New Hampshire as a sheltered care facility; and

• the individual is appropriate for placement in an RCF.

Determine eligibility using the appropriate independent living income limits if any of the above conditions are not met.
