Use third-party (collateral) information to establish the accuracy of statements made by the individual requesting assistance.
Require documentation of all details of real and personal property owned solely, as tenants in common, as joint tenants with rights of survivorship, in life estates and in trusts, including documentation of:
. the terms of ownership;
. the provisions that have been made for administration of an individual's estate;
. whether or not the individual has a will; and
. if the individual has a will, the location of the will and the name and address of the executor.
Require the name, contact information, and relationship of the joint owners of the property when verifying the deed.
Forward copies of all documentation of property ownership to OOS-ERU.
