627.09 Allocation to Maintain the Home (MAM)

Allow an individual residing in a nursing facility to allocate income to maintain their home if all of the following are met:

. a physician has verified the stay in the nursing facility is to be temporary (3 months or less), and

. the individual is expected to return to the home.

Allocate an amount equal to the applicable FANF shelter allowance that corresponds to the individual's shelter arrangement. See Family Assistance Manual, Chapter 600, Standards and Budgets.
