715.03 Definition of Buy-In of Medicare Part A: QMB and QDWI (MAM)

Part A coverage is free to most SSA individuals (SSI recipients must pay for it because they don't have enough quarters of work history). However, if the individual did not work enough quarters to be eligible, or worked for an employer who was not covered by the Social Security system, the individual is required to pay a monthly premium for Part A coverage.

New Hampshire pays the Part A premium when the individuals are eligible for assistance as Qualified Medicare Beneficiaries (QMB), or as Qualified Disabled and Working Individuals (QDWIs).
