Leave-of-Absence - A temporary absence from work approved by the employer.

Level of Eligibility - The type of assistance for which an individual may be eligible: categorically needy medical assistance, medically needy medical assistance, or In and Out medical assistance.

Liable Relative - A person who by law or regulation may be required to contribute to the support of a recipient of assistance.

Lien - An encumbrance placed on real or personal property to secure repayment of assistance granted.

Life Estate - Rights to the use of an asset during one's lifetime even though title to it has been transferred.

Liquid Asset - A resource which can be readily converted to cash, such as cash, checking or savings accounts, certificates of deposit, and stocks or bonds.
