221.01 Verification: Former Foster Care Child MA SR 14-04 Dated 01/14

Verify eligibility for Former Foster Care Child medical assistance (MA) at initial eligibility only:

the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) must verify that the child was in foster care and enrolled in Medicaid as of the age of 18;

verify that the child is 19 or older but under the age of 26. Self-attestation of age is accepted unless a discrepancy occurs with the electronic verification process; and

verify that the child is not eligible for any other category of medical assistance.
