Recipients that experience a family emergency, such as a divorce, can request a good cause for not meeting the community engagement requirement. The recipient can verify the good cause by self-attesting to the family emergency. The verification must include a description of the family emergency and the number of days the family emergency prevented the recipient from participating. Credit the recipient 8 hours of community engagement activity for each day the recipient was unable to participate.
