Consider all resources owned by or available to all members of the assistance group. Assistance group composition differs based on the type of assistance requested. See Chapter 200, Program Criteria, to determine who is included in the assistance group.

Resources may be counted from people not in the assistance group, such as alien sponsors and excluded parents.

Exception: If an institutionalized individual has a community spouse, consider the resources of both the institutionalized individual and the spouse, even though they do not reside together at initial eligibility determination only.
