NH DHHS Releases Proposed NH State Plan On Aging And Announces Public Input Sessions

Concord, NH – The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services’ (DHHS) Bureau of Elderly and Adult Services (BEAS) has released a preliminary draft of the next NH State Plan on Aging (SPOA). The draft plan is the result of input from a robust stakeholder engagement process last fall that included 13 listening sessions across the State and an online State Plan on Aging Survey.

To assure significant feedback on the proposed plan, DHHS will provide four opportunities for stakeholders and the public to provide additional input. The public comment session locations are listed below. The final SPOA will be submitted to the Federal Administration for Community Living, which is a requirement to receive federal funding for the Older Americans Act programs in New Hampshire.

“The preliminary draft of the State Plan on Aging is the result of a thorough statewide process, including guidance from the State Plan on Aging Planning Committee and the Legislative Committee on Aging,” said BEAS Administrator Wendi Aultman. “We were particularly encouraged by the number of people who completed surveys and came out to one of the many listening sessions held over the winter, and we believe we have created a four-year plan that reflects the needs of New Hampshire’s older adult population.”
