Food, Meals & Nutrition
Information and resources for older adults in need of nutritional support
Older Americans Act nutrition programs purpose is to reduce hunger, food insecurity and malnutrition in older adults as well as provide opportunities to socialize, and promote health and well-being.
Congregate meals services are offered in a variety of settings. They are funded by the Older Americans Act along with other related nutrition services. In addition to serving healthy meals, this program presents opportunities for social engagement, information on healthy aging and meaningful volunteer opportunities, all of which contribute to an individual’s overall health and well-being.
Home delivered meals services provide nutritious meals along with nutrition and health information. These meals may be the first in-home service that an older adult receives, and the program serves as a primary access point for other home and community-based services.
