SUMMARY
This SR releases a temporary exclusion of census enumerator income from FANF Cash, SNAP, and NH Child Care Scholarship eligibility. Additionally, this SR releases the permanent exclusion of temporary census enumerator income for non-MAGI categories of medical assistance.

BACKGROUND
The U.S. Census bureau has asked the Department to exclude temporary census enumerator income when determining eligibility for public assistance to help the Census recruit workers and allow workers an opportunity to develop job skills and experience without affecting their benefits.
POLICY
Wages earned from temporary employment at the US Census Bureau are temporarily excluded from countable income from May 1, 2019 through September 30, 2020 for SNAP, FANF, and NH Child Care Scholarship.
Wages earned from temporary employment at the US Census Bureau are permanently excluded from countable income for non-MAGI categories of medical assistance.
NEW HEIGHTS & NH EASY SYSTEMS PROCEDURES AND IMPLEMENTATION
New HEIGHTS has been updated to automatically exclude “Census Enumerator” income from May 1, 2019 to September 30, 2020 for SNAP, FANF, and Child Care Scholarship. New HEIGHTS will permanently exclude “Census Enumerator” income for non-MAGI categories of medical assistance.
