SUMMARY
This Supervisory Release (SR) releases updates to the Adult Assistance Manual (AAM) and the Family Assistance Manual (FAM).
POLICY
Due to Administrative rules that have been repealed or re-adopted and amended in 2023, the Adult Assistance Manual (AAM) and the Family Assistance Manual (FAM) have been updated as follows:
§ Homecare Works and Job Club no longer exists, therefore are no longer used by the New Hampshire Employment Program (NHEP) as allowable NHEP activities.
§ Previous exemptions from NHEP indicated that a parent or caretaker relative that is included in the assistance group and who is responsible for the care of a dependent child who is under the age 1, unless the parent is under age 20 with no high school diploma or its equivalent, was required to participate in basic education activities when the youngest child turns 12 weeks old. This was clarified to show it is through 12 weeks old and now reads for when the youngest child turns 13 weeks old.
§ The definition of designated receiving facility (DRF) has been added to the AAM glossary.
§ Information about compliance with quality control reviews has been removed as QC does not review financial assistance cases.
NEW HEIGHTS & NH EASY SYSTEMS PROCEDURES
There are no changes to the New HEIGHTS system or NH EASY Gateway to Services.

This SR will be distributed according to the electronic distribution list for BFA policy releases. This SR, and revised Online Manuals, will be available for agency staff in the Online Manual Library, and for public access on the Internet at https://www.dhhs.nh.gov/sr_htm/sr.htm, effective December 1, 2023.
