619.03 Supplemental Payments: Nursing Facility SR 15-05, 07/15 (AAM-A)

Nursing facility residents are allowed a minimum $70 personal needs allowance each month.

Issue semimonthly supplemental payments to individuals with available income less than the $70 personal needs allowance. The difference between the available income and $70 is the monthly amount of the supplemental payment. Supplemental payments are not subject to the $2.00 minimum payment requirement. See PART 617, GRANT DETERMINATION.

Example

A nursing facility resident has $30 in available income. The supplemental payment is $45 ($70 – $30 = $45). $22.50 will be issued on both the 15th and 30th.
