707.01 Mailing Addresses (FAM) |
___________________________________________________________
If Notices of Decision are mailed, the casehead’s home address is used for the mailing address and the US Postal Service (USPS) delivers the mail. A post office box or a general delivery address may be used as the mailing address instead of the casehead’s home address, if one of the following is true:
• home delivery of mail is not available where the casehead lives; or
• mail pilferage is an extensive problem in the casehead’s area.
Determine whether the casehead has a valid reason for use of a post office box or general delivery address. Accept any document or collateral contact that reasonably establishes the need.
Verify continued need for a post office box or general delivery address at every determination and redetermination.
See Section 303.05, How to Verify Residence, for information about the mailing address used when the individual or household is homeless.
