203 CATEGORICAL REQUIREMENTS (MAM) |
_____________________________________________________________
An individual who requests medical assistance must be determined eligible according to certain criteria for that program. These criteria are referred to as the categorical requirements.
The individual must also meet general and financial requirements.
All these factors are then used to determine the individual's "level of eligibility," which means the type of medical assistance for which the individual may be eligible:
. categorically-needy medical assistance;
. medically-needy medical assistance; or
. in and out medically needy medical assistance.
Exception: Certain refugees who do not meet the categorical requirements for OAA, APTD, ANB, or FANF may be eligible for Refugee Cash Assistance (RCA) or Refugee Medical Assistance (RMA).
