223 CHILDREN'S MEDICAID AND EXPANDED CHILDREN'S MEDICAID SR 14-28 Dated 08/14

Children's Medicaid (CM) and Expanded Children's Medicaid are both Medicaid eligibility categories that use Modified Adjusted Gross Income (MAGI) in the eligibility determination process. For eligible children, provide CM and Expanded CM through the day of the month before the day the child turns 19 years of age.

To be eligible for CM or Expanded CM, a child must be a:

. U.S. citizen or eligible qualified alien;

. New Hampshire resident; and

. meet the income requirements at PART 601, Table G, Medically Needy Medical Assistance Net Income Limits and Percentages of Poverty Guidelines.

There is no requirement that a child live with a parent or specified relative.

The child must also meet the listed requirements to be eligible:

Exception: Children under age *19 who are pregnant should have their eligibility for medical assistance initially determined according to the requirements for Pregnant Women MA, as there are special benefits associated with this coverage group.
