Information and resources about the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) program for pregnant and newly parenting families with children up to age 5.
The New Hampshire Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) program, located statewide, is a family support and strengthening program for pregnant and newly parenting families with children up to age 5. The program provides health education, parenting support, developmental screening and connections to community resources. Research shows that home visiting beginning prenatally and continuing through the first few years of a child’s life has a positive impact on children and families.
Healthy Families America (HFA) is one of the leading family support and evidence-based home visiting programs in the United States. We believe early, nurturing relationships are the foundation for healthy development. To learn more about the Healthy Families America model, visit their webpage. Healthy Families America New Hampshire has trained family support specialists and nurses who visit families in their home, community or wherever they are most comfortable, to offer a nationally recognized, evidence-based service.
Goals for the program are to:
- improve maternal and child health
- strengthen families
- increase financial independence
